Three wedding guests were reportedly shot dead in Afghanistan on Saturday after police discovered people playing music at the reception.
The incident is believed to have been in the southern city of Kandahar, a hotbed of ethnic tension and insurgency.
The police unit responsible for the investigation says a wedding party had gone to a local restaurant with a group of 40 to 50 guests and several loud music systems.
At least two guests, Allauddin and Saifullah, opened fire on the gathering, killing three people and wounding six more. The pair were reportedly invited to the wedding as unofficial guests.
After the shooting, one of the guests, Fazullah, jumped on a police van and escaped. Four other people allegedly involved in the attack were arrested by the local police.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the shooting, but both the Taliban and the ISIS militant group are active in the area, according to the BBC.
The shooting has been reported on social media by Afghanistan’s Facebook Live.
In July, six wedding guests were killed by a gunman on a motorcycle who was armed with an automatic rifle and hand grenades.
A police officer reportedly returned fire, killing the attacker. However, six other people were wounded in the attack.
